Add dishes

For owners and managers · updated 18 Oct 2026

Each dish has a name guests see, a short kitchen name for tickets, a category, a price and, if you like, sizes, add-ons and a photo.

Back office Menu Add item

  1. Tap Add item.
  2. Under Basics, type the Name on the menu, and a Kitchen name if the kitchen reads tickets in another language or uses short names.
  3. Choose the Category, or tap New category (for example Starters or Drinks).
  4. Pick the Food type if it matters to your guests (Veg, Non-veg, Egg or Vegan).
  5. Under Price and sizes, type the Price and, if staff type codes, a Code (quick entry).
  6. Sizes: tap + This item comes in sizes (Half / Full), then give each size its own price and code.
  7. Different price for delivery or takeaway? Under Other prices, tap + Add a price.
  8. Optional: attach Add-ons and options, choose where it's Prepared at, add Search words and up to six "Goes with" dishes.
  9. Tap Save. Tills show it on their next sync.

The preview on the right shows the dish as the till shows it, and its line on the kitchen ticket.

Example

Butter chicken in two sizes

Name: Butter Chicken. Kitchen name: BTR CHK. Category: Mains. Food type: Non-veg. Sizes: Half 280 (code BC1) and Full 450 (code BC2). Prepared at: Tandoor. Search words: "makhani". Goes with: Garlic naan, Jeera rice.

Example

A flat white with a delivery price

Name: Flat white, Category: Coffee, Price 5.00. Under Other prices, Delivery 5.50, so the delivery price covers the packaging. The most specific price wins.

Does changing a price change bills already taken?

No. Orders already taken keep their prices. The new price applies to orders from the till's next sync.

What are search words for?

They're what staff might type to find the dish on the till. Add the names people actually use, such as "makhani" for Butter Chicken or "cuppa" for tea.

What does "Goes with" do?

After the dish is added, the till offers those dishes first, then what your guests usually order with it. Up to six.

If it goes wrong

"That's much more than before"

Tillmora checks big price jumps in case of a typo (450 instead of 45.0). If the new price is right, tap Yes, save.

If it goes wrong

"Add a category first"

Every dish needs a category. Tap New category, name it (for example Mains) and save the dish again.
