Open the back office on a shared till
Managers can open the back office on a shared till (a counter tablet or PC) to check reports or change the menu, without leaving anything of theirs behind.
Till Menu Back office
- On the till, open the menu and tap Back office (or Manager? Open the back office on the lock screen).
- Type Your email and Password and tap Sign in. Two-step on? The 6-digit code comes next.
- Forgot it? Type your email and tap Forgot password?: open the link on your own phone or computer, choose a new one, then sign in here.
- Done: Close. You're also signed out after a few minutes without a touch, or when the till locks.
Example
A Friday stock check
Priya, the manager at Circular Quay, opens the back office on the counter tablet, checks today's sales and marks the lemon tart sold out, then closes it. The next person sees the till exactly as before.
Why no passkey, Google or Apple here?
On a shared till they'd stay with your account for the next person. Use them on your own phone or computer; on the till it's email and password every time.
Can cashiers open it?
No. Only owners, admins and managers of this branch can. Others see why, and the till carries on.
If it goes wrong
"No internet on this till right now"
The back office needs the internet; selling, kitchen tickets and printing carry on offline. Try again later, or use your own phone.
If it goes wrong
"That email and password don't match"
Check Caps Lock, or use Forgot password? (the link goes to your email, never opens on the till).
